The research is concerned with the translation of military and security of expressions and terms from English into Arabic. The research aimed to investigate the difficulties encountered by Yemeni universities students of Sciences and Technology, Sana’a and Modern Sciences in translating military and Security expressions and terms from English into Arabic and the strategies used in translating such expressions and terms. The test was done by selecting a number of items taken from Yemeni students concerning translation of military expressions and terms from English into Arabic in three Yemeni universities. The data of this study was taken from various sources such as; websites concerning military and security affairs and weapon’s companies with its Arabic translation by Translation center Sana’a university. The participants in the test included sixty students from translation departments in the three mentioned universities. The analysis of data was achieved by using (SPSS) to find the frequency and percentage of the used strategies. The findings of the study revealed that translating military and security terms and expressions was difficult for Yemeni students. It was found that also the level of Yemeni students was low. Furthermore, the results of the study showed that literal translation strategy was the most frequently used strategy for translating military and security terms and expressions. The checklist also included the categorization of translation strategies as per each translated item based on Vladimir Ivir classification of translation strategies. This checklist was validated by jury of eight professors of translation, literature and linguistics from three Yemeni universities
