The Expected Between the Sunnah and the New Rumor: A Study in Islamic Political Thought

This study is an epistemological approach to the topic of rapprochement between Sunnis and Shiites and the efforts made in this framework by both parties. It explores the practical prospects for rapprochement between Sunnis and Shiites. One of the results of this study is the failure of contemporary Islamic political thought, both Sunni and Shiite, to establish a modern Islamic political theory that would serve as a reference for rapprochement between Sunnis and Shiites, or a model that would transcend the boundaries of differences and obstacles, and present Islam as a factor of unity, harmony, love, and great Islamic brotherhood among Muslims regardless of their sects, ethnicities, and interests. Current rapprochement efforts should be transformed into a comprehensive institutional effort by both parties, expanding the scope of international meetings, conferences, individual and group visits, and the exchange of delegations between Sunnis and Shiites on a permanent basis to break down the barriers of isolation and build bridges of encounter and acquaintance, far from fanaticism of opinion and considering each party to be right and the other wrong.
